How Chandrajit Suri Vani collects, uses, and protects your information.
Last updated: 1 May 2026
1. Who we are
Chandrajit Suri Vani ("the App", "we", "us") is published by the organisation supporting Pujya Acharya Chandrajit Suri Maharaj Saheb. The App offers recorded pravachans (sermons), live Chaturmas streams, and a private question-and-answer channel with the Acharyaji's team.
Account details — name, email address (or phone number for OTP sign-in), display name, preferred language (English / Hindi / Gujarati), and optionally city.
Questions you submit — text of any question you ask Acharyaji through the in-app Q&A.
Calendar action — when you tap "Add to calendar" on a live event, the event is added to your device calendar via the OS calendar API. Nothing is sent back to us about your calendar.
Information collected automatically
Push-notification token — a device-specific identifier issued by Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) or Apple Push Notification service (iOS), so we can deliver new-pravachan and Acharyaji-replied notifications.
Crash reports — if the App crashes, technical diagnostic data (stack trace, OS version, app version) is sent to Sentry to help us fix the bug. We have explicitly disabled Sentry's PII collection (sendDefaultPii: false), so crash reports do not contain your email, name, or phone number — only stack traces and device/OS metadata. Crash data is not linked to your identity.
Pravachan view count — an anonymous per-video play counter, not tied to your account.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect your location.
We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
We do not track you across other apps or websites. There are no advertising identifiers (no IDFA on iOS, no Advertising ID on Android). The iOS privacy manifest declares NSPrivacyTracking: false.
3. How we use your information
To create and maintain your account.
To deliver the pravachan library, live streams, and your private Q&A thread with Acharyaji's team.
To send you push notifications you have opted into (new pravachans, replies to your questions).
To diagnose crashes and improve App stability.
4. Privacy of your questions
Questions you submit through the App are visible only to you and to Acharyaji's administrators. They are not shown to any other user. There is no public forum, comments thread, or inter-user messaging. When Acharyaji's team replies, only you see the reply. Submitted text is screened by an automated content-moderation service before being shown to Acharyaji's administrators (see § 5); submissions that fail moderation are rejected at submission time and not stored.
5. Service providers we use
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Storage) — hosting and core backend. Firebase privacy.
Sentry — anonymous crash and error reporting. We disable Sentry's default PII collection (see § 2 above). Sentry privacy.
OpenAI — we use OpenAI's Moderation API to automatically screen the text of questions you submit for hateful, threatening, or sexually explicit content before they reach Acharyaji's team. The API call sends only the text you wrote, with no account information attached, and OpenAI does not use Moderation API inputs to train models. OpenAI privacy.
YouTube — pravachan videos are served from the official YouTube channel @acharyachandrajitsuri8943. The embedded player uses youtube-nocookie.com (privacy-enhanced mode). Google privacy.
Vercel — web-app hosting and edge delivery. Vercel privacy.
6. How long we keep your data
Account details, questions, and replies — kept for as long as your account exists.
Push-notification token — refreshed automatically; deleted with your account.
Crash reports (Sentry) — kept for up to 90 days, then automatically purged.
Account-deletion audit row — a hashed (non-reversible) email plus a deletion timestamp, kept for 90 days for fraud and abuse review, then automatically purged.
7. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the App: open Profile → Delete Account, confirm your password, and confirm twice. Deletion is immediate and permanent. We hard-delete:
Your user profile (name, email, phone, language, FCM token).
Every question you have ever submitted, and every reply Acharyaji's team sent to you.
Your sign-in record with Firebase Authentication.
If you cannot access the App, email gatewaytechnolab@gmail.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request" from the email tied to your account. We will action it within 7 days. See also /account-deletion.html for the same process.
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Most of these are available directly inside the App (Profile screen). For anything else, write to gatewaytechnolab@gmail.com.
India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) — you may withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account. You may also nominate someone to act on your behalf in case of incapacity.
European Union / UK (GDPR / UK GDPR) — the lawful basis for processing your account, questions, and replies is contract (Article 6(1)(b)). For crash diagnostics, the basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).
10. Security
All traffic between the App and our backend is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS). Authentication, database, and storage are operated by Google Firebase under their security controls. We do not store passwords ourselves; Firebase Authentication handles password hashing.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced via in-app notification.
